Former Pocola tight end Dakotah Terrell says he is going to pursue his true passion.
Terrell, who signed with Missouri last year to play football, announced his decision to pursue a transfer that will let him focus on playing basketball.
"Over time, I've realized that my true passion lies in basketball," Terrell said in a social media post. "After a lot of thought, I've decided to pursue that path more seriously, and I'm planning to transfer to a school that aligns better with my goals both on the court and in the classroom."
Terrell didn't play as a freshman with the Tigers in 2025. In four seasons with Pocola, he helped lead the Indians to four consecutive playoff appearances, making 83 catches for 1,321 yards and 13 touchdowns.
As a senior, he helped Pocola go 9-3 and reach the Class A-I quarterfinals, catching 46 passes for 695 yards and four touchdowns.
On the basketball court, he helped Pocola finish runner-ups as a junior and was a Class 2A All-State selection by The Oklahoman as a senior after averaging 20 points per game.
